Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms apply to your use of EasyTestData Cloud and the easytestdata.com website (together, the "Service"), run by the EasyTestData project ("EasyTestData", "we"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

2. The Service

The Service generates synthetic (fake) financial data and can load it into, and purge it from, QuickBooks Online ("QBO") sandbox companies that you connect. It is offered free of charge. There are no paid plans and nothing to buy.

3. Sandbox-only use

You may connect only QBO sandbox companies. Do not connect production companies or load generated data into real accounting records. Generated data is not real and must not be used for financial reporting, tax filing or any other real-world purpose.

4. Acceptable use and limits

To keep the shared service available to everyone, EasyTestData Cloud caps each team (for example, the number of QBO connections and loads per month). If you need more, you can run the same software on your own computer with no limits. You agree not to:

• Use the Service for anything unlawful or fraudulent
• Attempt to get around usage limits, rate limits or security measures
• Interfere with or overload the Service or other users' access to it
• Access other users' accounts or data
• Share your credentials with people who aren't authorized to use them

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

5. Your account and data

Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. To correct your account details or delete your account and its data, email [email protected]; the Privacy Policy describes what we keep and for how long.

6. Changes and discontinuation

The Service is under active development. We may change, limit, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time. Because the code is open source, you can always keep using it by running it yourself.

7. Open-source software

EasyTestData's source code is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0, and your use of the code is governed by that license. These terms cover only the hosted Service. You are free to run the code yourself under the license.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including Intuit (QuickBooks Online) and the sign-in providers you choose. Your use of their services is governed by their own terms.

9. No warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY OR AVAILABILITY. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE OR UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT DATA WILL NOT BE LOST.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EASYTESTDATA AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR REVENUE. THE SERVICE IS FREE, AND OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO ZERO DOLLARS ($0).

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page and update the Effective Date at the top. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
